Every job is essential at the Garden Spot! From the Cleaners to Cooks! At the G-Spot, everyone's labour is needed to keep the organization functioning, and we respect that by acknowledging that there is no power-relationship or hierarchy amongst volunteers. There's plenty of opportunities for those who want to be involved in collective team work.
During regular serving schedules, we require volunteers from Monday to Friday to:
Cook 8am - noon Drive noon & 2:30pmm Serve Breakfast 8am - noon & Lunch 12:30 - 2:30pm
Also available are Co-Coordinator positions. With a flexible work schedule, you can be involved in the Garden Spot despite work or school commitments.
Day Coordinators See to the daily Monday to Friday lunch shifts to ensure that lunch is delivered.
Volunteer Coordinators Recruit, train and schedule in new volunteers for breakfast and lunch shifts.
Catering Coordinators Works to meet catering requests of the Garden Spot through shifting in cooks to delivering the food.
Donation Coordinators Communicates with the community at large to seek out food donations for the G-Spot.
Kitchen Coordinators Check over the equipment and space in the kitchen to ensure that everything's working properly.
Also available are Pod positions. Also with a flexible schedule, you can be involved with the many committees formed by the Garden Spot that keep us running on a regular basis:
Propaganda Pod Essentially the community outreach committee that designs and distributes G-Spot literature!
Garden Pod Every spring this pod gets started on our community garden at our kitchen and works through the summer and fall to grow delicious foods!
T-Shirt Pod Organize the printing of Garden Spot merchandise for G-Spot volunteers and fans!
