How to Post a Moment

This might seem pretty intimidating if you are like me and have only basic computer skills but with a bit of practice it is quite easy to post a moment. You cannot break a wiki because your edits can always be reverted by clicking on 'History' in the top left hand corner of the toolbar and then clicking to Restore the changes which you would like undone. The wiki sandbox is also available to play around with and test new things out.

  1. - To become a sustainer, email us at heritagemoments@gmail.com to obtain an editing password.

  2. - Go to Moment Index and click on 'Edit Page' found in the upper left-hand corner of the page. Enter the password.

  3. - Scroll down to whichever category you think is appropriate for your moment. For example, a moment about the sterilization of women in Canada by the State could fall under the Womyn category.

  4. - Add a new page for yourself by enclosing the page's name in double square brackets. For example, without the j's, j[j[Sterilisation of Women]j]j leads to the creation of Sterilisation of Women? page. Links to nonexistent pages? are displayed specially, to invite others to create the page.

  5. - Save your editing by clicking on the 'Save' button below the input area. This will return you to the actual Moment Index.

  6. -Click on the link to your new page which will appear different as it is a nonexistent page?, for example Sterilisation of Women?. This will bring you to a page where you can write or insert your moment. An editing toolbar for text formating is found above the input area and more information can be found below or by clicking on the links to Basic Editing or Text Formatting Rules.

  7. -Remember to Save your editing. A preview button is available to test out your work; to see the preview scroll down the editing page.
